Moi

SAMSUNGHi! I’m Blythe Fraser.

The latest: I have finally accepted the truth about myself. I want to write. I want to write stories, books, screen plays, essays and poetry. I will do my best, come what may.

Personal stuff: I love reading, and learning and I’m also a little bit obsessed with Elvis Presley (early rock n roll is my favourite, as in Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, but Elvis is the best). I have other obsessions too but they are top secret since they’re related to ongoing writing projects. I practice yoga and meditation. I love spending time in nature, swimming in Georgian Bay, and hanging out with my family. I think I’m making up for lost time: Because as much as I love travelling and experiencing other cultures, climates and cuisines, after about 13 years living abroad I grew homesick for Ontario. I revel in silence and calm, and want to run away and live in a cabin in the woods.

Work stuff: I have worked in communications for my entire career: in advertising, for community newspapers in Ontario and more recently doing online communications for the United Nations Development Programme (10 years) with a focus on digital and social innovation. Since coming back to Canada, I led the social media presence for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and now I’m providing remote communication services for humanitarian and development workers. My specialties: Writing, editing, proofreading, advocacy, communication and content strategywebsite management, social media and citizen engagement.
